Emergency Rental Assistance Program Notice

SCA Case Management will prioritize new ERAP applications for households that have not received prior assistance; or have an active eviction notice. Assistance will be capped at a total of 12 months. Any further assistance is contingent on funding availability.

SCA will not pay rent that is set above a tenant’s ability to eventually make regular payments.

SCA will review rent rates to assure they are reasonable. Unreasonable rates may be denied or flagged for investigation for potential fraud.

As the goal of ERAP is to prevent eviction, payment of unfairly high rent amounts will not be considered eligible.

Emergency Rental Assistance Program

The Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) was created as an emergency response to the COVID-19 health pandemic to provide rental and utility assistance to assist households that have been directly or indirectly financially impacted by COVID-19.

Beginning with applications submitted June 1st, you must make an appointment with your case manager to process your application. Completed applications can be submitted via fax, mail, email or directly to an SCA office. Meetings take about 45minutes and can be conducted in person or via phone. When we receive your completed application, a case manager will call you to schedule a meeting. Meetings can be rescheduled if we do not have all required documents outlined on the first page of the application. This will delay the process of verifying your information and making a payment.

Be prepared to discuss the goals from your first round of ERAP.

Who Qualifies?

ERAP assistance is available to lessees with incomes up to 80% area median income that have been directly or indirectly impacted by COVID-19.
