Emergency Rental Assistance Program Notification

*** IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ ***

Due to limited funds for the Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP), Schuylkill Community Action cannot guarantee assistance will be available for all applicants. SCA will continue to process applications, following all mandated prioritization guidelines. SCA further prioritizes first-time applicants and those under threat of immediate eviction.

SCA is pausing the application process so that funds can be fairly disbursed. We will not accept new applications after August 25. SCA will notify the public if/when ERAP resumes.

ERAP processing, approval, and payment, can take time. Please be patient as we process your application. SCA will send a notification by mail stating if and when assistance is granted. Since funding is not guaranteed, it’s important to consider all other options to make rent payments, before relying on ERAP. See some resources below to help with housing stability:

Applications

A complete list of required documents in order to process the application can be found in the following ERAP 2 document packets:

Beginning with applications submitted June 1st, you must make an appointment with your case manager to process your application. Completed applications can be submitted via fax, mail, email or directly to an SCA office. Meetings take about 45minutes and can be conducted in person or via phone. When we receive your completed application, a case manager will call you to schedule a meeting. Meetings can be rescheduled if we do not have all required documents outlined on the first page of the application. This will delay the process of verifying your information and making a payment.

Applications and all supporting documentation must be provided in order to receive assistance. Applications and supporting documentation may be emailed to RentalHelp@schuylkillcommunityaction.com or mailed to 200 North 2nd Street, Pottsville, PA 17901.

For more information, please contact our office directly at (570) 622-1995.
