Coronavirus Update

The 19 sites of the Schuylkill Food Network are operating on normal schedules at 17/19 sites. We plan to reschedule the 2 cancellations in Schuylkill Valley and McAdoo asap. We are carrying out food distributions with drive up and curbside services.

Assistance is available for people who are experiencing food emergencies.  Participants must meet income guidelines 150% federal poverty level, must be Schuylkill County residents, and must be facing a food emergency.  Please call Schuylkill Community Action at (570) 622-1995 to schedule an appointment.

Update: The Pottsville Area Food Pantry regular distribution is scheduled for Tuesday March 31 from 10 am – 1pm. The food will be distributed with drive through and curbside pick-up. Cars should line up in front of the pantry. Please stay in your car, the line will move up Laurel Blvd. and down 7th Street where verbal registration and food loading will occur. Walkers should line up in front of the building in the designated area.

Area served: Pottsville, Mt. Carbon, Palo Alto, Frackville, Norwegian Twp., East Norwegian Twp., and New Castle Twp.

Due to the regular pantry distribution, there will not be a Countywide emergency food distribution held on Tuesday March 31.

Emergency Food Distributions will take place from 1pm-3pm on Wednesday April 1 and Thursday April 2 at the Billie Payne Community Center located at 7th and Laurel Blvd in Pottsville. The pantry is open to income eligible Schuylkill County residents experiencing a food emergency. Due to overwhelming demand, we are limiting access to the emergency food distributions to one time per month at this time.
