Make a Difference: Volunteer at Our Food Pantry!
Hunger doesn’t stand a chance when our community works together. We’re looking for dedicated hands to help keep our pantries running and our neighbors supported. No experience necessary – just a heart for helping!
How You’ll Help
Whether you’re a “people person” or prefer working behind the scenes, we have a spot for you:
- Pantry Operations: Pack food boxes, sort donations, and keep our space organized.
- Distribution Days: Help load vehicles and welcome neighbors during drive-through events (all-weather).
- Office Support: Assist with filing, registrations, and essential paperwork.

- Everyone: Individuals, families, and groups of all ages.
- Students & Professionals: Perfect for those seeking community service hours.
- SNAP Participants: Use your volunteer time to fulfill your SNAP work requirements. We provide flexible scheduling and track your hours to ensure you meet your program obligations.

Volunteer Food Pantry Coordinators Needed
Help manage food pantry distributions in your community. Schuylkill Community Action is seeking volunteer coordinators for locations throughout Schuylkill County.
Available Locations:
Ashland, Girardville, Gordon, Mahanoy City, Port Carbon, Pottsville, Schuylkill Valley, Shenandoah.
Responsibilities:
- Organize monthly food distributions
- Verify household income eligibility
- Maintain distribution records
- Ensure safe food storage
- Attend annual compliance training
- Working with/directing a team of volunteers
