Employment Services

SCA offers a specialized employment service, called the Work Ready Program, which helps individuals become prepared for their presence in the work world.

Work Ready Program

Schuylkill Community Action’s Work Ready Program was created to meet the needs of welfare recipients entering or re-entering the work world.

The goal of the program is to provide services that will help clients to stabilize barriers that may hinder them from achieving self-sufficiency. It is our hope that this will be a significant step in the journey from welfare to self-sufficiency.

This program provides classroom and community activities to recipients of Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) in Schuylkill County. These activities focus on participants’ strengths rather than on their barriers to self-sufficiency.
