Tax Preparers Volunteers Wanted

During the 2015-2016 Fiscal Year, Schuylkill Community Action received 14,506 volunteer hours. Without volunteer support, Community Action does not exist. Looking for a way to give back? Why not consider being a volunteer as a certified Tax Assistor?

This is a great way to give back to your community and earn service hours.

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) helps Schuylkill County residents with low-to-moderate incomes. Information about VITA can be found by clicking here.

Position

Volunteer Tax Assistors help other people with their tax returns in the IRS – VITA program managed by Schuylkill Community Action (SCA).

Responsibility

Tax assistors provide free, basic, computerized tax return preparation assistance to low-income taxpayers eligible to claim the earned income tax credit (EITC).

Training

Training is FREE. All volunteers will be trained, tested, and certified on IRS TaxSlayer Pro Software.

Hours

Morning and Evening hours.

Volunteers are needed to provide assistance during the tax season from January – April.

Various local sites.
